Dr. Sheryl Shook graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering before working as an engineer and scientist on the International Space Station Program. After volunteering at a psychiatric unit, she was motivated to attend University of California at Davis where she completed a doctorate in Neuroscience. Her work with neurosurgery teams and a seizure unit compelled her to
find more answers to healing neurologic disorders and thus completed studies in herbal medicine. A strong desire to teach, and empower others in their own healing, has led to
her co-authorship of the book, Herbs and Nutrients for Neurologic Disorders.

Currently, she teaches sleep science, including an undergraduate sleep science lab course, and human anatomy and physiology at Kapi’olani Community College
