We would like to thank all of our volunteers (entertainers, musicians, cultural presenters, etc.) for helping make our Japanese Heritage Month (March 2018) a memorable one for us all.
We would like to especially thank Ms. Kiyoko Furuyama for generously displaying her personal Japanese Origami doll collection with us in celebration of Girls Day. Mrs. Furuyama had been making origami dolls (of all sizes) for 35 years. Her passion started out as a simple hobby, and because of her unique talent, she was often asked to display her origami dolls at craft fairs around the island.
Domo arigato (thank you) also to Mrs. Furuyama’s daughter-in-law Michi Furuyama, for taking the time to help us with the cultural presentation, and for setting up the month-long display in our 2 curios—which we all enjoyed tremendously!
