Hawaii’s first long-term care facility Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center celebrates 75 years of serving kupuna and veterans this year.
The facility held a week-long celebration with families, business partners, and state and military leaders.
Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Johnny Valentine, whose mother stayed at the center, performed at a special anniversary event.
The grand niece of the center’s original benefactor, Ethelwyn Castle, celebrated the milestone with guests, and international artist Lenny Acosta Knight hosted an art exhibit.
The center also introduced its “Maunalani Reimagined” fundraising campaign to modernize and upgrade the facility.
