June 12, 2020
Dear Residents and Families,
Thank you for your continued support during this time. We understand that some of you remain concerned about your loved ones at Maunalani since our initial announcement of a positive COVID-19 case. We want to share with you updates for what has transpired since our last communication on June 9, 2020.
We are happy to report that the individual remains asymptomatic and healthy. As an additional precautionary measure before the individual will be allowed to work, we will require another test to ensure absence of COVID-19.
Residents and staff who wished to be tested during this time were provided free testing and the results have come back negative. We have been adhering to the infection control standards outlined by the DOH, CMS and CDC to ensure our practices and policies are effective and in compliance. The State Department of Health came to conduct a focus survey on our Infection Control practices today and they validated that Maunalani is in full compliance.
This pandemic leaves us all vulnerable. Realistically, additional positive cases can potentially happen. With our continued thorough screening at our entrances, we should detect any possible cases before they enter the building. We continue to educate our staff to be responsible outside of the facility by practicing safe behaviors while in the community and not to report to work if not well.
We are all in this together. Thank you for your patience and understanding of the restrictions needed to continue to keep our residents safe.
Sincerely,
Sai Chantavy
