Dear Maunalani Families,
We realize visitation during the holidays is especially important for our residents and families and we would like to help make your visits happen. We would also like to provide you with an update on what Maunalani has been doing to continue to keep everyone safe against COVID-19.
- We have completed our annual flu vaccination for all of our residents and staff who are able to be immunized. This should keep Maunalani safe against the flu during the upcoming flu season. When the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available to us in the future, we will offer it to all at Maunalani without delay.
- We are excited to have acquired a new technology to disinfect our residents’ rooms and other spaces. Our new mobile room disinfection units utilize ultra-violet light which has been proven to be effective in killing germs, especially viruses. They will be used in conjunction with our enhanced cleaning and sanitizing routines. We hope to implement the use of these units shortly after all our staff are trained. - We continue to regularly test our entire staff based on the State’s infection rates – currently the State’s infection rate being under 5%, we perform monthly COVID testing. Our next mass testing for staff is scheduled for December 4, 2020.
- Screening of staff and everyone who enters the building continues, and the residents are monitored closely by our professional nurses around the clock.
- Based on activities of their choosing, residents are kept engaged. However, visiting with family members will always top the list for our residents’ preferences. We hope you will come to visit despite the added precautionary measures and restrictions:
